Strong Research & Development Capabilities

We pride ourselves in continually pushing the performance envelope of FRP pultrusions. This culminated in the establishment of our research laboratory, Composite Materials Research. High investment in R&D has been a key business strategy.

Pultron has always been heavily committed to research and product development discovering new solutions to problems and improving procedures.  A team of scientists and engineers is dedicated to fundamental and advanced research.

The R&D department is equipped with state of the art instruments for thermal, mechanical and physical analysis. Several projects are jointly undertaken with universities, government research laboratories and private industry.

Some of the areas under development are:

• Injection pultrusion of filled and unfilled resin systems
• Pultrusion of natural fibres
• Investigations into failure mechanisms
• Development of high performance matrix
• New processing technologies
• Development of fire retardant profiles
• Development of a highly oriented polyethylene bar

Pultron's technical staff is well equipped and qualified to carry out research programmes on a contract basis in different areas related to the pultrusion industry.
